回顾马敏教授在本院为期一个月的访问 我们非常荣幸地获来自华中师范大学的马敏教授于2026年3月莅临中国跨国史研究院进行为期一个月的访问。 在这一个月间,马敏教授举办了三场精彩的公开讲座,从比较和跨国视角深入探讨了近代中国文化、社会和物质的变迁。他检视了马士曼的圣经汉译,分析了商会如何促进晚清时期公民社会的形成,并探讨了大型博览会如何重塑中国的物质文化和现代身份认同。除了公开讲座之外,马教授还与港大及其他院校的学者和学生分享了他的真知灼见,并进行了深入的交流。 马教授将于2027年再次来港大进行为期一个月的访问。我们热切期待下一次亲身聆听马教授分享他渊博学识的宝贵机会。 请按此浏览更多相片。

Yet since Maoist China’s march to Lhasa, the plateau’s unforgiving high-altitude environment had stonewalled successive attempts to lay tracks to Tibet and harness its natural resources for socialist industrialization. Drawing on archival sources in the PRC and abroad, oral histories, and internal scientific publications, this talk traces how the railway’s construction from 1956 to 2006 forged a distinctive “mobilizational technocracy” in Maoist and post-Mao China. Far from relying on the mass labor and grassroots knowledge that powered infrastructure development elsewhere in the PRC, the regime marshaled scientific expertise from across the country to
