ITHC Director Named David H Y Chang Professor in Chinese History

Professor Xu Guoqi, Founding Director of ITHC, has been named the recipient of the David H Y Chang Professorship in Chinese History. Established through a generous gift from Mr. David H Y Chang, Founder of the Tigillus Foundation, this prestigious endowed professorship recognizes distinguished scholars who have made substantial contributions to research and teaching in Chinese history. The Endowed Professorship Presentation Ceremony took place on February 28, 2025, followed by the Inaugural Ceremony on November 28, 2025.

As we reflect on the Institute’s first year since its establishment in December 2024, we deeply appreciate Mr. David H Y Chang’s significant contribution, which greatly supports our ongoing research in the transnational history of China.
